On the Feast of the Presentation of our Lord in 1973, the Irish Bishops wrote to the Christian people of Ireland establishing Trócaire. As we mark 50 years of Trócaire, we mark 50 years of perseverance, courage, participation, accountability and solidarity. From supporting human rights defenders in Central America, to leading the relief effort in Vietnam following the war, to providing essential emergency assistance in the midst of crisis, Trócaire has been proud to work on behalf of the people of the island of Ireland in fighting injustice across the world. We thank God for our supporters and partners who empower us to do this vital work. We pray that the next fifty years will see all the people of the world working together for a more just world, and that the fruits of this work will be clear to see.

THE FIRST FRIDAY VIGILS OF REPARATION continue in St. Clare's Adoration Chapel, Cavan Town, from 6:00p.m. to 10:00p.m. every First Friday during Lent. You are invited to attend for even some of it. "Come and watch with Me for one hour" - Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. "Help make reparation for sin, so that souls may be saved" - Our Lady of Fatima. Do it for yourselves, your family, our country and the world.

PARKING AROUND CATHEDRAL

We are asking people NOT TO PARK their cars on the avenues around the Cathedral while attending Mass or other Church ceremonies.

The emergency services need to have access to the Cathedral at all times. One never knows when the services of an Ambulance or Fire Brigade are required and access routes should not be blocked at any time.

Consideration for others is all we ask and leaving the avenues and all yellow boxes free at all times is essential.

Volunteers Wanted For Daffodil Day Friday March 24th

It’s that time of year again when spring is in the air and Daffodil Day draws near. Daffodil Day is on Friday March 24th. If you could spare one or two hours on Daffodil Day it would be greatly appreciated. Even if you have volunteered in the past please contact Martina on 086 3782928 (with GDPR regulations I need people to contact me). We need over 100 volunteers on the day. I will try to accommodate all requests but I would ask for some flexibility. Or perhaps you could host a Coffee Morning or some other fundraising event in your workplace or community – I would be happy to help with merchandise or advise.
